An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Danish Movie Poster (measures 24" x 33 1/2" [61 x 85 cm]) (Learn More) Casa Lontana (literally translates to "Home Away"), the 1939 Johannes Meyer Italian/German opera musical romantic love triangle murder trail crime melodrama (about a famous opera singer who marries a pretty dancer, and when she has an affair, he confronts the man and kills him, but he is acquitted at his trial) starring Benjamino Gigli, Kirsten Heiberg, Elsa Wagner, Oretta Fiume, and Werner Fuetterer. Note that Benjamino Gigli was a famous opera singer at this time, and this movie was obviously designed to allow him to sing many famous opera songs during the movie!. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster was tri-folded only and there were creases along those folds. There were tears and staining in the lower right border and pinholes and some faint staining in the other borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. Note that at some point after the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and there is now a horizontal crease across the poster (both in the linen and the poster itself) approximately 7" from the top, but the crease is not very noticeable from the front of the poster. There are also creases in parts of the excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
