Date Sold 7/27/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 7 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Beau Sabreur, the 1928 John Waters silent romantic French Foreign Legion military adventure melodrama sequel ("The answer to 'Beau Geste' By Percival C. Wren"; it picks up where "Beau Geste" ended, with the same cast members, and in this one, Gary Cooper battles a traitorous Legionnaire and evil Arabs!) starring Gary Cooper, Evelyn Brent, Noah Beery Sr., William Powell, Joan Standing, and Roscoe Karns. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us! So they are original stills from 1928, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. Each has some degree of scuffing and light creases scattered in some areas, and a few have spots of paper loss within the image.
