An Original Vintage Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Cat and the Canary, the 1939 Elliott Nugent romantic horror mystery comedy ("The picture that will give your goose pimples goose pimples!"; "Chills, horrors and lots of fun!"; "Based on the Stage Play by John Willard") starring Bob Hope, Paulette Goddard, John Beal, Douglass Montgomery, Gale Sondergaard, Elizabeth Patterson, George Zucco, William Abbey (as "The Cat", a homicidal maniac!), and Nydia Westman. Note that this was a remake of the 1927 movie of the same name directed by Paul Leni, except that it has had comedy injected, to make a suitable movie for Bob Hope! Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good to very good. The card had tiny pinholes and a few creases and smudges around the edges. It had a tiny pinhole in the bridge of the monster's nose, with a crease in the background to the left of his shoulder, running into his shoulder and his hair. It had a crease and scuffs in his clothes. Someone performed slight touch up to the defects described above in the monster, but left alone the border defects, and the card displays pretty well (see our images).
