An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures approximately 9" x 11 1/2"; contains 1 supplement and 3 stills) (Learn More) Tom and Jerry: The Movie, the 1992 Phil Roman animated animation cartoon musical cat-chases-mouse family comedy ("The World's Most Famous Cat and Mouse in Their First Motion Picture."; "Welcome to the 90s. The Cold War is over. Western Europe is unified. The whole world is a kinder, gentler place to be. Well...almost."; "Featuring 6 Original Songs from Award Winning Henry Mancini") featuring the voices of Richard Kind (in the title role as Tom the feline cat), Dana Hill (in the title role as Jerry the mouse), Anndi McAfee, Tony Jay, and Rip Taylor. Note that this movie was based on the classic cartoon duo created by William Hannah and Joseph Barbera over 50 years earlier, but oddly, the only credit they receive on the poster is for "Creative Consultant Joseph Barbera"! Note that Tom and Jerry is a classic series of cartoons created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The first one was created in 1940, and there as a total of 114 cartoons through 1957. Seven of these won Academy Awards for Best Cartoon, tying for most wins with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies. There were around 50 more cartoons created after the first run ended, through the early 2000s, and there were also TV shows based on these classic characters. Some people have criticized the cartoons for their "excessive violence", but actually no blood or gore was ever shown in any of them, and this type of violence is commonly referred to as "cartoon violence". Many of the Tom and Jerry cartoons are extremely clever and make wonderful use of music. They are not nearly as appreciated today as they should be, but in their day, they were among the most popular cartoons of the 1940s! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that because this presskit is missing its folder (or it was made without one), we have taken a picture of the cover of the single supplement and four of the stills (less than four if the presskit has less than four stills, of course). We have noted if the presskit contains any supplements, but we do not picture them. All of the presskits are sealed and ready to be sent, and we cannot answer any questions about the contents, especially about what any stills we may have not pictured show. REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN FOUR OF THEM (and we pretty much picked four stills at random). Condition: very good to fine. Note that the vast majority of the presskits we are auctioning this week were carefully stored away for many years, and the stills are usually in really excellent condition. Sometimes the folder that contains the stills has some wear on it, and you should be able to see that in our super-sized image.
