Date Sold 4/24/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Wild Brian Kent, the 1936 Howard Bretherton cowboy western ("Adapted from the Novel 'The Re-Creation of Brain Kent' by Harold Bell Wright") starring Ralph Bellamy (in the title role as Brian Kent), Mae Clarke, Helen Lowell, Lew Kelly, and Stanley Andrews. Note that in this unusual western, Ralph Bellamy plays a polo-playing loafer who freeloads off of a farmer, romances his daughter, and is generally a creep! But when the farmer is about to lose his farm, he not only saves the farm from foreclosure, but he also commandeers a fire truck from some local firemen, and puts out a fire that is going to burn down the farm house! Important Added Info: Note that this is one of ten special sets of stills we are currently auctioning that have both a wonderful "provenance", and also have an important signature on the back of every still! These sets come from the personal collection of actress Mae Clarke, who avidly collected stills from her own movies. In each case, she would take the still and write the names of the actors pictured on the front, and also the name of the movie in pen on the back of each still. Since she was writing her own name, that means that she "signed" every still! We have pictured the fronts and backs of every still in each of these ten lots, so that you can clearly see what she wrote on the back of each. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain rare stills from Mae Clarke's movies, as well as her signature on the back of every still! Note that each still has two punch holes in the left border, so they could be a key book still, or someone could have just put those punch holes there. Condition: very good. One of the stills has blue ink in the background around the edges of Miss Clarke's hair and her name is underlined on all four stills.
