An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (released in Mexico as "The Body Snatchers"), the classic 1956 Don Siegel science fiction (sci-fi) horror alien invasion romantic thriller ("Walter Wanger creates the ultimate in science-fiction!"; "They come from another world!"; "Incredible! Invisible! Insatiable!"; "Something is happening! Send your men of science quick! The panic stricken cry went over the phone to Washington D. C. until the lines went dead!......."; "Colliers's Magazine called it 'The nightmare that threatens the world!'"; "Based on the Collier's Magazine Serial by Jack Finney"; about aliens invading Earth by replacing people with alien counterparts that grow as pods, and then take over the person's identity when the person falls asleep; one by one, a town is taken over, and the few remaining unaffected people try to stop them and get the word out, but they are stopped at every turn; most people see this as a thinly veiled parable of the activities of the House Un-American Activities Committee, which found "Communists" behind every door in Hollywood!; others protest that it greatly borrowed the plot of Robert A. Heinlein's "The Puppet Masters", which had been written five years before; ironically, when The Puppet Masters finally came to the screen in 1994, it was criticized for being a rip-off of this movie!) starring Kevin McCarthy, Dana Wynter ("Sensational star discovery of 'The View From Pompey's Head' ... Dana Wynter in the year's most startling role!"), Larry Gates, King Donovan, Carolyn Jones, Jean Willes, and Ralph Dumke NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). very good to fine. The poster had pinholes around the edges (extending into the edges of the image), small paper loss at some crossfolds and tears and creases on some foldlines. The poster is well linenbacked, and the minor defects are not noticeable except from close-up. Learn More about condition grades
