McGowan Our Gang Little Rascals family comedy short ("Everybody Loves Those Wonderful LITTLE RASCALS!"; produced by Hal Roach) starring George 'Spanky' McFarland, Sherwood Bailey (as Spud), Matthew 'Stymie' Beard (one of the first black African American actors to achieve success in mainstream sound movies), Tommy Bond, Dorothy DeBorba, Billy Gilbert, Douglas Greer, Bobby 'Wheezer' Hutchins, Bobby Mallon and Kendall McComas (as Breezy). Note that Spanky had made his debut in a short just before this called "Free Eats", and he was just 3! But Hal Roach quickly recognized what a remarkable talent he was, and he was given the lead in this, his very next movie, and he was still seven months shy of his 4th birthday!
