An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style B One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Stocks and Blondes, the 1928 Dudley Murphy comedy starring Jacqueline Logan, Gertrude Astor, Richard 'Skeets' Gallagher, and Albert Conti NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). See below for this poster's pre-restoration condition (we are the only major auction company we know of that shares this information with our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). good to very good. There was much paper loss in the lower half of the right border, but it is extremely fortunate that it was virtually entirely blank white paper that is missing. There was a similar area of paper loss in the bottom 4" of the left blank border, but again only blank paper was missing. The rest of the blank borders were somewhat tattered. The image area had a 9" vertical tear running from the top of the woman's wrist down into the green area. There was a 6" diagonal tear starting in the upper part of the right edge of the image near the woman's shoulder and running across to her other shoulder. Other than the above defects, the image of this poster was in surprisingly good condition. The poster was really expertly restored with new blank borders being expertly placed over the tattered original blank borders, and very expert restoration was done in the image area. The poster really looks wonderful, and it truly has little restoration within the image! Learn More about condition grades
