Cain was an American author and journalist from the 1920s to the 1970s. Cain vehemently opposed labeling, but he is usually associated with the hardboiled school of American crime fiction and is seen as one of the creators of the roman noir. Several of his crime novels inspired successful movies, including: Double Indemnity, Mildred Pierce, The Postman Always Rings Twice, and more. He passed away in 1977 at the age of 85. It is matted together with a magazine page (from Look magazine) and a Lana Turner trading card, and the entire display is ready to frame and hang on the wall!
