An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Swing Time, the 1936 George Stevens romantic love triangle musical dancing comedy ("With six new haunting melodies by Jerome Kern composer of 'Roberta'"; "Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers in the captivating climax of their gay young lives!..."; about a man and woman who are supposed to marry others, but they end up falling in love with each other) starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Victor Moore, Helen Broderick, Eric Blore, Betty Furness, Georges Metaxa, and Dennis O'Keefe. Note that this was one of the nine wonderful movies that Astaire and Rogers made between 1933 and 1939 (they made one final movie, "The Barkleys of Broadway", thirteen years later in 1949). Important Added Info: Note that the snipe on this still shows a great image of sexy young Betty Grable holding a rubber surfboard, and emerging from the ocean. The snipe says that she "will soon be seen in the Fred Astaire-Ginger Rogers filmusical 'Swing Time'", but Grable never appeared in this movie (could Ginger Rogers have been afraid of being upstaged by her, and gotten her off the movie?)! Note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. Normally, this was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby. However, this snipe was glued on so that the written portion is only readable when the snipe is folded over the bottom of the still, which slightly defeats this purpose (although one can see the top of the still and the snipe at the same time, which could not be done if the snipe was glued on the back). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "PHOTO BY FRED A. PARRISH". Note that there is a stamp on the back of the still (from the studio that distributed it), and it is dated 1936. Condition: fine. Learn More about condition grades
