An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Ernst Lubitsch's Comedy To Be or Not to Be, the 1942 Ernst Lubitsch World War II (WWII) military romantic love triangle anti-Nazi screwball comedy ("We announce the presentation of Carole Lombard's last picture. An exciting romantic comedy keyed to an ever-mounting tempo of suspense. Jack Benny at his best in a surprisingly different comic role. Here is a Lubitsch picture-brilliant in its acting-spectacular in its scope."; "original story by Ernst Lubitsch and Melchior Lengyel"; produced by Alexander Korda) starring Carole Lombard (in her final movie role; she tragically died in a plane crash after filming), Jack Benny, Robert Stack, Felix Bressart, Lionel Atwill, Stanley Ridges, Charles Halton, and Sig Ruman. As noted above, Lombard tragically passed away after the movie finished filming, but before it was released. United Artists decided to capitalize on this by promoting it as "Carole Lombard's last picture"! Also note that this movie was remade by Mel Brooks in 1983!
