He chose his stage name from the East Indian word kala nag (from Kipling's Jungle Tales) meaning "black snake", thinking that outside of Germany people might find Schreiber hard to pronounce. During World War II, Schreiber was closely associated with members of the Nazi party including Goebbels, Goring and Hitler. He passed away in 1963 at the age of 59. There are some creases and tiny tears and/or tattering along parts of some edges and there is a tear at upper right (repaired with tape from the back) and some paper loss at lower right.
