Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Black Jack, the 1927 Orville O. Dull silent Nevada romantic poker gambling cowboy western ("A Whirlwind Romance of the Lawless Days in Old Nevada"; "Story by Johnston McCulley"; about a professional gambler in the Old West, who wins everybody's money in a poker game, and then is chased out of town, and he meets up with a beautiful young woman who has a third of a coin, and when combined with the other two thirds, the coin forms a map of a great gold mine, and the cowboy goes partners with her, but there are bad guys who will stop at nothing to get the coin!) starring Buck Jones, Barbara Bennett, Theodore Lorch, George Berrell, and Harry Cording. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. the poster was linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had a 1" x 3" piece of tape in the middle of the top blank border that had darkened; the image area was in excellent condition, with slight separation and tiny paper loss on some foldlines; the person who restored the poster carefully put new paper over just the top blank border (it was very expertly done and most people would not realize it unless it was specifically shown to them); the image area of the poster was expertly restored; the minor defects are noticeable on close inspection, but from any distance they basically vanish and the poster looks wonderful!
