An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Nora Prentiss, the 1947 Vincent Sherman romantic doctor crime film noir ("Would you keep your mouth shut if you were Nora Prentiss?"; "If you were Nora Prentiss would YOU keep your mouth shut?"; "Loving her once is once too often!"; "Soft when she ought to be! Hard when she has to be!"; "She had a lot to learn... But not about men!!!"; about a nightclub singer who is in an accident and becomes involved with her married doctor) starring Ann Sheridan (in the title role "as 'Nora Prentiss' - the New Warner Sensation!"; "Ann Sheridan is the star of 'Nora Prentiss' The New Warner Sensation"), Kent Smith, Bruce Bennett, Robert Alda, Rosemary De Camp, and Creighton Hale NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare teaser one-sheet (note the complete lack of credits on the poster). Note that teasers became popular in the 1960s and later, but there are very few of them from the 1950s and earlier (I have seen others from Warner Bros. movies of this period, so apparently, someone there liked to create teasers). They are far more rare than the regular one-sheets! Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some minor wear on the foldlines. There is a line of darkening across the top of the word "MOUTH" and running across to Sheridan's hair, with some darkening underneath it, which makes me think that there might have been a snipe over that area at one time. There is some surface paper loss just above the litho company line at bottom right and also two areas of surface paper loss in the middle of the right border, extending into the background. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (and a restorer may be able to touch them up without re-backing the poster).
