An Original Vintage Theatrical 7 1/4" x 9 1/4" [18 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Long Fliv the King, the 1926 Leo McCarey silent royalty romantic comedy short (produced by Hal Roach; about a princess whose father the king dies but she cannot become a queen unless she is married within 24 hours, so she marries a man condemned to death, but later the man is pardoned without her knowledge and he goes to her country to find her and he is recognized as king, and the woman's new suitor hires a man to kill him in a duel!) starring Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Oliver Hardy, Martha Sleeper, Max Davidson, Fred Malatesta, John Aasen, and Helen Gilmore. Note that director Leo McCarey, who had directed some thirty comedy shorts in 1924 and 1925 prior to this one, would later go on to much bigger successes, including the classic "Going My Way"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still was used like a key book still in that it was 7 1/4" x 9 1/4", and it was mounted to a black linen-like paper with an excess inch at the left. But it is not a true key book still. It also has information at the bottom from a company that rented this movie in the 1930s for private showings that is on a thin paper snipe that was taped to the front of the still (see our image).
