An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Autographed One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Untamed, the 1940 George Archainbaud Canada medical doctor romantic love triangle adventure thriller ("Based on the story 'Mantrap' by Sinclair Lewis"; about a doctor who is badly injured on a hunting trip in Canada, and a doctor rescues him and brings him back to his cabin to recover, and while there, the recovering doctor repays him by falling in love with his wife, and that is just the beginning of the story!) starring Ray Milland, Patricia Morison, Akim Tamiroff, William Frawley, and Jane Darwell. Note that this was a remake of the 1926 movie, "Mantrap", starring a young Clara Bow in one of her first hits! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Patricia Morison! Also note that this poster and the only other example of it we have seen have something very usual at the bottom right. It appears that the posters were originally designed to have the credits in the bottom right instead of the bottom left, and someone decided that it made more sense to put them all into the bottom left, which had no artwork, rather than have to deal with her foot extending to the bottom border (or have the art repainted so that it would not extend down so low), and it appears they put solid blue over the original credits at bottom right rather than deleting them, and there is a clear "ghost" set of credits in the bottom right (you can only make out bits and pieces of it because there is blue over it). This is not a defect, because it is surely on all examples of this poster, and also because it is not very noticeable (and it is certainly an unusual story!). What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tears and paper loss at the middle crossfold, and creases, tears, and bits of paper loss scattered down the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the horizontal folds. There were some small tears and small areas of paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
