He is likely best remembered for this many impersonations of Mark Twain in one-man shows, including in "Mark Twain Tonight". He is that rare actor who made many movies, but also appeared in many TV shows, and also was on stage for many years! In 1972, he was in the groundbreaking TV movie "That Certain Summer" (opposite Martin Sheen), the first mainstream movie to maturely address homosexuality. He had long term roles on TV's "Designing Women" and "Evening Shade". Some of his movies include: The Great White Hope, Magnum Force, The Fog, Wall Street, Into the Wild (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and Men of Honor. Holbrook passed away in 2021 at the age of 95.
