The monster is loose!"; "Based upon the Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley Story"; "Adapted by John L. Balderston from the play by Peggy Webling"; the first of the Universal "Frankenstein" movies, and regarded as one of the finer movies of any genre, in large part due to the marvelous acting of Boris Karloff, and the marvelous direction of James Whale!) starring Colin Clive (as Dr. Herbert V. Frankenstein), Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Edward Van Sloan, Fredric Kerr, Mae Clarke, Dwight Frye (extremely memorable as Fritz), and John Boles NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. The card at the top of our image has pinholes in the corners and just a few creases in the borders. There is a 1/2" tear in the upper left blank border that was repaired with a tiny piece of clear tape from the back. There are four pieces of brown paper tape on the back of the center of the top and bottom borders, but they were not put there for any restoration purpose. The card in the bottom of our image has two tiny tears near the middle of the right blank border and a total of three other tiny tears in the other borders. At one time, someone put six tiny pieces of tape on the back of those tears, but the tape is long gone, and it discolored the back of the borders slightly in those areas, but not the front. There is a tiny piece of clear tape on the back of a small tear in the lower right border. Overall, both of these cards display quite well, and their defects are basically minor and almost completely in the blank borders! Learn More about condition grades
