Date Sold 9/15/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #7 (The Ghost Town Mystery) Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Dick Tracy, the 1937 Alan James & Ray Taylor detective mystery crime action serial ("A Republic Serial"; "Ace G-man... Waging a One-Man war on crime!"; "15 action episodes"; "Based on cartoon strip by Chester Gould"; "Original Story by Morgan Cox and George Morgan") starring Ralph Byrd (in the title role as Dick Tracy), Kay Hughes, Smiley Burnette, Lee Van Atta (as Junior), Francis X. Bushman (as Chief Clive Anderson), and John Picorri (as Moloch). Note that this was the very first Dick Tracy movie! It is surprising that it took six years for it to reach the screen, but once it did, it proved very popular and was followed by three more serials over the next four years, and then after a four year break, the first Dick Tracy feature film was released, which again proved extremely popular, and there were three sequels to that. There were animated cartoons on TV in the 1950s and in 1990, Warren Beatty made a live action movie! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. Both have some slight discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture (much noticeable in the card at bottom which also has some blank corner loss at upper right.) It has some tape on the back that was not put there for any restoration purpose, typical of vintage lobby cards. Learn More about condition grades
