He would often appear briefly in his own movies as a gag. Some of his movies include: Rear Window (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), North By Northwest, Psycho (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Vertigo, Strangers on a Train, Notorious, Rebecca (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Shadow of a Doubt, The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, The Birds, Dial M for Murder, Lifeboat (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Spellbound, The Man Who Knew Too Much (he made this one TWICE!), The Trouble with Harry, and many, many more! He passed away in 1980 at the age of 80. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is the program book printed for the gala honoring Alfred Hitchcock on 4/29/74 in New York City at the Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center) has been personally autographed (signed) by Alfred Hitchcock! Our consignor has been in the movie business for many decades, and over the years, he would have some stars that he worked with autograph items to him, and this item was signed in person and we are 100% certain it is authentic (in the case of this specific item, he did not obtain the autograph from Hitchcock, but it was another studio representative who obtained it, and he gave it to our consignor, and we still feel certain it is authentic)! Also note that we have pictured the front cover and one or more interior 2-page spreads from this program. Included with the program book is a page from a magazine where they show examples of famous stars' autographs, including Alfred Hitchcock (see our image). Condition: good to very good.
