An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Special Delivery, the 1927 Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle (billed as "William Goodrich") silent Secret Service post office postman mail delivery comedy (about the son of a postal inspector who everyone thinks is a loser, and he becomes a mailman thanks to his father, but then he gets mixed up with a stock swindler, and after many adventures, everything works out well in the end) starring Eddie Cantor, Jobyna Ralston, William Powell, Donald Keith, and Jack Daugherty. Note that after Fatty Arbuckle's career as an actor was ended by the scandal involving a girl dying at a "wild party", he was able to direct some movies, but only under pseudonyms, as in this case. This was one of the shorts that Arbuckle directed before passing away in 1933. It has a script that was written by silent comedy star Larry Semon together with star Eddie Cantor (surprisingly in a silent role, even though his fame was as a singer), and everyone agrees that this is an excellent comedy that has been sadly forgotten by just about everyone except major film buffs. Fortunately, Cantor's grandson had a print of the movie and released it on DVD, so it is still available for viewing.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned six stills and a French pressbook from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: fair to good. There are many stains scattered throughout the card and someone used black paint to write on the back of the card. This is the sort of card that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the stains can be removed through chemical means, after which the card will look fantastic (but please do not bid on this card unless you can accept its significant defects and are willing to pay for the restoration).
