A 1964 Re-release (re-titled "Il Texano" for this Italian re-release) Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 1/2") (Learn More) Three Godfathers, the 1949 John Ford cowboy western ("John Wayne's greatest role"; "John Ford's legend of the Southwest!"; from the story by Peter B. Kyne; about bank robbers who kill a man during a holdup, and they escape into the desert, and they find a woman who is giving birth, and she dies, but when they learn that the father was the man they killed, they feel it is their duty to get the baby to safety, but it is all they can do to save themselves) starring John Wayne, Pedro Armendariz, Harry Carey Jr. (billed as "introducing Harry Carey, Jr."), Ward Bond, Mae Marsh (the famous silent star), Jane Darwell, Ben Johnson, and Hank Worden. The very first adaptation was by Broncho Billy Anderson in 1915's "Broncho Billy and the Baby", followed by another version a year later under the source novel's name, followed by a third version called "Marked Men" in 1919. That movie was remade twice, both times under the source novel's name, in 1936, and in 1949, that time with John Wayne, and it was not directly remade again, although other movies borrowed elements of the plot. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was re-titled "Il Texano" for this Italian re-release! Apparently, in Italy at this time, the word "Texas" was pretty much synonymous with "cowboy", and was stuck on to many westerns! Also note that this Italian locandina measures 13" x 27 1/2" and that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. There are water stains in the top blank area (likely there was once a snipe glued there). There is a tack stamp in the top right of the image background. There are creases along the foldlines and some minor creases throughout the poster. Learn More about condition grades
