Artist: Erik Nitsche Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this three-sheet, and that was 14 years ago, when it sold for $1,313! Also note that there is no design credit on this very striking poster but it is the work of Erik Nitsche. Some have mistakenly attributed it to Saul Bass but he only created the art seen on the insert poster. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had very minor wear on the folds in the top image area. It had creases, smudges, and tiny tears in the bottom of the vertical folds in the bottom credits area, and also in the bottom horizontal fold, which falls in the solid white area. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed with very little restoration. If I owned this poster, I would almost certainly have a talented restorer touch up the bottom white area, because the rest of the poster displays so well, and is in such nice condition, but that will be the choice of the new owner of this extremely rare poster.
