An Original Vintage Theatrical One-Sheet Movie Poster (Learn More) The Land Beyond the Law, the 1927 Harry Joe Brown silent cowboy western ("Story and adaptation by Marion Jackson") starring Ken Maynard, Dorothy Dwan, Tom Santschi, Noah Young, Gibson Gowland, and Billy Butts. Note that "Tarzan", Ken Maynard's horse, is not billed in this movie. We don't know if he appeared in it uncredited, but we do know that he had been in several Ken Maynard films prior to this one (he had been bought by Maynard for $50 in 1925, and after he was called "Tarzan" in a movie, Edgar Rice Burroughs threatened to sue Maynard, and they settled when Maynard agreed to have him billed as "Tarzan, The Wonder Horse", and he soon had permanent billing alongside Maynard, and he performed with Maynard for the next 15 years or so!)
