An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Czechoslovakian Movie Poster (measures 37 1/4" x 49 1/4" [95 x 125 cm]) (Learn More) Robert Koch, der Bekampfer des Todes (also released simply as "Robert Koch"; literally translates to "Robert Koch, The Fighter of Death"), the 1939 Hans Steinhoff German medical doctor biographical historical melodrama starring Emil Jannings (in the title role as Robert Koch), Werner Krauss, Viktoria Viktoria von Ballasko, Raimund Schelcher, Hildegard Grethe, Theodor Loos, Otto Gral, Peter Elsholtz, and Paul Otto (he was a famous German actor during the 1920s and 1930s, and he appeared in many Nazi propaganda movies, and became a favorite of Joseph Goebbels; but late in 1943, it was discovered that he was Jewish, and he and his wife committed suicide in their home!) Also note that this is an extremely rare World War II era Czech poster! Virtually no Czech posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in Czechoslovakia during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! What IS linenbacking? The poster had small paper loss at some crossfolds and some creases, tears, and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
