An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Ever Since Eve, the 1937 Lloyd Bacon romantic screwball comedy ("...A gay romantic laugh hit!"; "From a Story by Margaret Lee and Gene Baker"; about a beautiful woman who cannot keep a job because her employers are interested in more than her abilities) starring Marion Davies, Robert Montgomery, Frank McHugh, Patsy Kelly, and Allen Jenkins NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this was printed by the "other company". This was a company in the Midwest that from roughly 1936 to roughly 1941 printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They never have the name of the releasing studio on the poster or any of the lobby cards, but many years later, noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben discovered that the name of the company was "Associated Displays Corporation" and that they were based in Manhattan, New York (oddly, no collectors knew the name of this company for decades!). Sometimes, "other company" posters or lobby cards have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters or lobby cards! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny tears and paper loss scattered in parts of the vertical foldline, including in the right of Davies' hair. It had an extra fold just above the regular middle horizontal fold, with tiny bits of paper loss between the two folds. There were a few bits of paper loss on the other two horizontal folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
