An Original 1932 (from the first release of this movie in France) Vintage Theatrical Folded Style D French Four-Panel Movie Poster (4p; measures 90" x 122" [229 x 310 cm]; printed in 4 pieces) (Learn More)

Her Man, the 1930 Tay Garnett Havana Cuba romantic love triangle crime melodrama (about a singer in a low life Cuban nightclub who falls in love with an American sailor, but the owner of the club doesn't want to lose her, and it ends with one of the men dying) starring Helen Twelvetrees, Marjorie Rambeau, Ricardo Cortez, Phillips Holmes, James Gleason, and Franklin Pangborn. Note that Phillips Holmes had made an impression in some movies in the late 1920s. In 1931, he would get the lead in the first version of "An American Tragedy", which made it seem like he would become a major star, but that didn't materialize. He had a major affair with Libby Holman, but that was certainly complicated, and when they broke up, she immediately married his brother! Oddly, years later, Holman would have another very complicated affair with Montgomery Clift, who played the same part in the remake of "An American Tragedy", retitled "A Place in the Sun". Sadly, Holmes died in a plane crash in 1942. I am very surprised no one has made a movie about his life, or a joint movie about him and Libby Holman!

Artist: Roland Coudon
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two French one-panels, a single lobby card, and five stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this French four-panel poster! Also note that this French four-panel measures 90" x 122" [229 x 310 cm], and it was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: good to very good. There are tears and tiny paper loss on parts of a number of folds and in the borders, and also some darkening on the back of pieces that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded.
