An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Three on a Ticket, the 1947 Sam Newfield detective mystery crime film noir ("He meets the kind who kiss...and kill!"; "It's his greatest adventure!"; "Based on Original Characters and Story by Brett Halliday"; "Michael Shayne Detective"; "He's out to get his man... but he's ALL OUT to get that blonde!"; one of the series of "Michael Shane, Detective" movies) starring Hugh Beaumont (as Michael Shane), Cheryl Walker, Paul Bryar, Ralph Dunn, Louise Currie, Gavin Gordon, Charles Quigley, and Douglas Fowley. Note that "Michael Shayne: Private Detective" was the first in a series of twelve detective movies based on the character created by Brett Halliday. Lloyd Nolan played the character in the first seven movies between 1940 and 1942. There was then a 4 year gap and the series resumed in 1946, with Hugh Beaumont (best remembered as the father in TV's "Leave it to Beaver") taking over the role and he starred in five movies in 1946 and 1947.
