EYES WITHOUT A FACE/MANSTER EYES WITHOUT A FACE/MANSTER LC OR search current auctions Auction History Result 4d387 EYES WITHOUT A FACE/MANSTER LC #7 '62 horror double-bill, the master suspense thrill show! Date Sold 10/4/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #7 (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) the 1962 double-bill release ("The Master Suspense Thrill Show!"; "Mature Horror Show"; "Selected for special showings at the Edinburgh Film Festival!") of Les Yeux Sans Visage (released in England in 1960 as "Eyes Without a Face" and in the U.S. in 1962 as "The Horror Chamber of Doctor Faustus"), the 1959 Georges Franju French/Italian medical doctor surgeon horror thriller (based on the book by Jean Redon) starring Pierre Brasseur, Alida Valli (often billed as "Valli"; best remembered as the female lead of The Third Man), Juliette Mayniel, Alexandre Rignault, Beatrice Altariba, Francois Guerin, and Edith Scob (as the girl who is "without a face")l AND Manster (also released as "The Split"), the 1959 (released in the U.S. in 1962) George P. Breakston & Kenneth G. Crane U.S./Japanese science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Mature Horror Show!"; "A ghastly elegance that suggests Tennessee Williams!"; "See the two-headed killer creature!"; "The terror that split a man in two... half human, half monster!"; "Before your started eyes... man changes to monster! Once normal man actually splits in two ...half human, half inhuman, in the laboratory of the damned... in which women are brutalized by the monster-born-of-man!") starring Peter Dyneley, Jane Hylton, Satoshi Nakamura, Terri Zimmern, Norman van Hawley, Toyoko Takechi, Jerry Ito, and Tetsu Nakamura. Note that this is a very confusing movie! It seems likely that it was released in the U.S. initially solely as half of a double bill with "Eyes Without a Face", and it was titled "Manster" for that U.S. double bill release. But it appears that it also received an international release under the title "The Split". The double-bill is from United Artists/Lopert, and the international one-sheet is from United Artists only, so it would seem that United Artists had the sole international distribution rights. The only one-sheet we have seen that is not international (with "The Split" title) is a military one-sheet, which had the "Manster" title. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
