This poster was linenbacked and during the backing process, its defects were repaired and it now looks nice. From any distance away, you can't see what restoration was done. It may have had only very minor defects, or it may have had more significant defects that were well restored. It is possible that you can see SOME traces of the restoration from a distance, but if so, we clearly note it below. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had small holes at the crossfolds. There was a 5" tear near the middle of the top foldline in the blue background and some other small tears across the top foldline. There were creases and a few small tears on other foldlines. There were creases, tears, and areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. The poster was well linenbacked. From any distance away it looks fine, but from close up, you can see signs of the restoration. Learn More about condition grades
