A 1962 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Lady and the Tramp, the classic 1955 Clyde Geronimi & Wilfred Jackson Walt Disney animated animation romantic canine dog musical cartoon ("...and NOW his Happiest Motion Picture!"; "This is a motion picture dedicated to the heroes and heroines of a world you always hoped did exist but never knew for sure"; "Introducing the happiest new screen personalities in a dog's age in an adventure set to music and never ending laughter..."; "Singing and bringing their wonderful story to the CinemaScope Screen wrapped in a Technicolor rainbow of sheer entertainment"; "It's joy and excitement and all the merry holiday celebrations of your life rolled into one great big happy entertainment"; "With the happiest songs of all!"; "The FIRST all-cartoon feature in CinemaScope"; "Happiest Motion Picture!"; "From the novel by Ward Greene") featuring the voices of Peggy Lee, Barbara Luddy (in the title role as Lady), Larry Roberts (in the title role as Tramp), Bill Thompson, Bill Baucom, and Stan Freberg NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that on most of their movies, Disney would create all new artwork (or at least change the coloring) when they re-released their classic cartoons. But for this re-release, it appears they were so happy with the image and taglines on the first release poster that they made the 1962 re-release one-sheet almost identical to the 1955 original, except they changed the CinemaScope logo at the bottom to portraits of the characters, which many might prefer (it also has a 1962 NSS number at the bottom, and the word "RE-RELEASE" is there in tiny letters). So that makes this poster a very attractive alternative to the 1955 original release. Note that this item is in eMoviePoster.com's special "all animation" auction! The idea for this auction began when we were consigned a remarkable collection of original 1940s Walt Disney pressbooks, mini lobby cards, and standees (and almost all of those are extremely rare ones that are hardly ever auctioned, and they almost all are in really nice condition). Once we knew we had those items, we contacted all our past consignors, and asked them to consign to this very special auction, and they REALLY came through, consigning a wonderful assortment of cartoon movie paper of all sorts. Buying from this special auction gives you an incredibly rare opportunity to obtain some of the finest cartoon animation movie paper we have ever seen, and all of them will have new owners when these auctions close, because all start at $1 with no reserve. Many of these items will likely not be auctioned again for many years to come! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster had creases, scuffs, and surface paper loss on all the folds, with a slightly diagonal vertical fold that has extra folds by it. There is a yellow stain in the top center. The top and bottom borders were slightly trimmed. There are pinholes in the corners, with paper loss in two corners and paper loss in the upper right border. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone mounted the poster fairly well, but they performed no restoration to the above defects (see our image).
