An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) The Big Shot, the 1931 Ralph Murphy romantic love triangle business investment melodrama ("He makes stocks rise - and women fall!"; about a pretty hapless guy who invents a puncture proof tire, and a vamp makes a play for him, which almost causes him to forsake his loyal girlfriend, but then his tires prove to be a bust, and his girlfriend's mom gives him money to invest in real estate, and it seems to be swampland, but it turns out to be a health spa!) starring Eddie Quillan, Maureen O'Sullivan, Mary Nolan, Roscoe Ates, and Belle Bennett. Note that apparently Eddie Quillan had a romance with Maureen O'Sullivan during the making of the movie, and wanted to marry her, but his mother forbade it. That turned out to be unlucky for Quillan, because O'Sullivan had been brought to America by Fox and then they dropped her, and she made this one movie for RKO Pathe before signing with MGM, and the next year she starred in Tarzan the Ape Man, and became a major star! Also note that Mary Nolan was a former Ziegfeld girl who was then known as "Bubbles Wilson", but she had a very troubled life, filled with scandal, and she retired from movies in 1932, not long after this movie, and was later a drug addict, and died in 1948 at the age of 43, completely forgotten. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: fine. This glass slide is in really excellent condition, and we feel that EVERY collector would be happy to own it. It IS possible it may have a MINOR defect or defects, but nothing at all significant. But we bet many dealers would call items in this grade "mint" or "near mint"! Learn More about condition grades
