An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More)

Ian Fleming's Goldfinger, the classic 1964 Guy Hamilton English James Bond 007 spy espionage fantasy action adventure thriller ("James Bond is back in action!"; "Everything he touches turns to excitement!!!"; based on the novels by Ian Fleming) starring Sean Connery ("as Agent 007"), Honor Blackman ("as Pussy Galore"), Gert Frobe (in the title role; billed as "Gert Frobe as Goldfinger"), Harold Sakata (as "Oddjob"), Shirley Eaton (as Jill Masterson, the woman covered in gold paint in the film), Tania Mallet (as Tilly Masterson), Bernard Lee (as "M"), Margaret Nolan (as the girl who provides the background for the main titles, the "nude gold girl" on posters, and also as "Dink", one of the Bond girls!), Nadja Regin, Gerry Duggan, Lois Maxwell (as Moneypenny), Richard Vernon, and Cec Linder

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this six-sheet (although we have seen a report from an auction house claiming to have auctioned another example of this poster for over $13,000)! For the U.S. ad campaign for this movie, almost all the posters have a montage of three images, EXCEPT for this poster and the half-sheet, which only have a single image. But the half-sheet has the image on one half of the poster, and the title and full credits on the other half. This wonderful six-sheet is much more like a "teaser" poster, with just a tagline, the title, and "TECHNICOLOR", and it is clearly far and away the best U.S. poster on this movie! The example we are auctioning (the only one we have ever auctioned!) is folded and unrestored, so the foldlines somewhat detract from the image. But please take my word for it that once this poster is backed, it will be incredibly striking and we very much hope that the new owner will display it publicly so that a large number of people can view it! Also note that this six-sheet was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: very good. The poster was stored fully folded for many years, and there is much darkening on the back of 10" of the top of the far right vertical fold. It is on the back of the "T" of "ACTION", but fortunately, it does not show through to the front. There is a stain in the center of the top blank border in the top edge. There is some darkening on the back of some folds, and it slightly shows through to the front in a few areas. There are some small tears on parts of some folds. None of this is at all serious! Even though the poster is basically in nice condition, we still recommend that the new owner have it backed by a top professional, because it is important that it be done correctly, given how great the image is, and how wonderful it will look after it is backed!
