An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12 1/2" x 15" [32 x 38 cm]; 36 pages) (Learn More) Bluebeard's Eighth Wife, the classic 1938 Ernst Lubitsch France romantic idle rich marriage comedy ("He married in haste and repeated with pleasure!"; "Based on the play by Alfred Servoir"; "Screen Play by Charles Brackett & Billy Wilder"; "English Play Adaptation by Charlton Andrews"; about an American multi-millionaire who marries the daughter of a poor French aristocrat, and because she is his eighth wife, she works hard to keep him) starring Claudette Colbert (in the title role), Gary Cooper, Edward Everett Horton, David Niven, Elizabeth Patterson, Herman Bing, Franklin Pangborn, and Rolfe Sedan. Note that this movie combines wonderful direction by Ernst Lubitsch, great writing by Charles Brackett and Billy Wilder, and wonderful acting by the leads. It really "has it all"! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!
