Un Soir de Bombe (literally translates to "A Bomb Night"), the 1935 Maurice Cammage French blackmail mistaken identity screwball comedy farce (about a rich man who receives a blackmail note asking for a million francs or they kill him, and he asks the police for help and they assign a pair of bumbling detectives to protect him, so he takes off, but a poor man, who is his exact double, shows up and everyone thinks he is the rich man with amnesia because he doesn't recognize anyone, and two bumbling doctors try to reawaken his memory, including by having his "wife" kiss her lover to shock him into remembering, while the blackmailers get more and more serious) starring Pierre Larquey (billed as "Larquey", in a dual role as both the rich man and the poor man), Alice Field, Suzanne Dehelly, Gaston Dupray, Jacques Varennes, Gaby Basset, Jean Cyrano, Fredo Gardoni, Georges Peclet, Charles Rigoulot, Sinoel, Madeleine Guitty, Fernand Rene, Myno Burney, Georges Bever (billed as "Bever"), Albert Brouett, Jean Dunot, and Andre Roanne. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Artist: Roger Soubie
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II French poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie, and which we have never auctioned before! We are also currently auctioning a different first release one-panel from this movie in a separate auction, and this is a rare opportunity to purchase one or both of these ultra rare posters. Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters! We are also currently auctioning a different style first release French one-panel in a separate auction.

Condition: good to very good. There is a foreign stamp in the upper left corner.
