Date Sold 10/1/2009 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 1936 Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (11x14; LCs; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) State Fair, the 1933 Henry King romantic comedy ("State Fair with the World's Greatest Cast"; "8 Great Stars in One Picture"; "Screen Play by Sonya Levien and Paul Green"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award; about a small town Midwestern family and their eventful trip to the annual State Fair; based on the "Novel by Phil Stong") starring Janet Gaynor, Will Rogers, Lew Ayres, Sally Eilers, Norman Foster, Louise Dresser, Frank Craven, and Victor Jory. Note that the movie was re-made in 1945 and again in 1962! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that Will Rogers was the foremost movie star for Fox Pictures in the early 1930s, and was at the height of his career when he was killed in a plane crash in 1935. Fox had just merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form 20th Century Fox (Rogers had made one movie for the combined company), and immediately after his death, and for the year after, 20th Century Fox re-issued all of his sound movies.
