An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds, the classic 1963 Alfred Hitchcock suspense horror thriller ("Nothing you have ever witnessed before has prepared you for such sheer stabbing shock!"; "'It could be the most terrifying motion picture I have ever made!' - Alfred Hitchcock"; "'...and remember, the next scream you hear may be your own!'"; "The birds is here!"; "Daphne Du Maurier's shattering psychic thriller."; "Based on Daphne Du Maurier's Classic Suspense Story!") starring Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette, Tippi Hedren (billed as "Introducing 'Tippi' Hedren, A Fascinating New Personality"), Veronica Cartwright (13 years old), and Richard Deacon. Note that Alfred Hitchcock used the two taglines "The birds is coming!" and "The birds is here!" on several different types of advertising for this movie, no doubt because he thought it was funny that while it is technically grammatically correct when referring to the movie, they "sound wrong"! The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. There were a few smudges around the edges of the poster and in the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer left alone the minor smudges described above (and they are not very noticeable or distracting, and any restorer could touch up those areas without re-backing the poster).
