A Folded Special Poster (measures 20 3/4" x 34" [53 x 86 cm]) (Learn More)

Wonderful World of Fantasy, the 1970s spook show ("On stage - in person"; "Thrill: To the hair-raising mysteries of the mad scientist's laboratory!"; "Spine-tingling!"; "Giant cast of gorgeous girls"; "Human rocket"; "Lovely maiden astronaut shot through space from the mouth of a mamouth [sic] magic cannon!" "Unbelievable!"; "Plus 961 other magical miracles") about a mad scientist and his mysterious experiments. Spook shows started in the 1930s and continued into the late 1960s and early 1970s. They had their greatest prominence in the late 1940s and 1950s. Local theaters would often book three to five low budget movies, and then advertise them as a late night "spook show". Often they would have "live" acts on stage, (sometimes famous actors who had appeared in monster movies would appear on stage in full make up, and sometimes it would be local actors dressed as monsters), and often the posters would make outrageous promises (such as claiming that a person would be beheaded on stage!). Note that this poster features art of workers in a lab, a gorilla, and a mad scientist! If anyone knows more about this specific spook show or this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned any movie paper from this spook show in all our years of auctioning! Also, a knowledgeable collector suggests that the artist is Neal Adams, but we cannot confirm that at this time. Finally, note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has some light rippling at right and some slight discoloration at lower right. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition.
