An Original Vintage Theatrical Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief, the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime mystery thriller ("It's a web of romance and suspense that spins you from delight to danger - then spirals to an explosive climax on the fabulous Riviera!"; "Based on the novel by David Dodge"; "Screenplay by John Michael Hayes"; about a retired jewel thief living on the Riviera, and there is a string of daring jewel robberies, so naturally, he is the lead suspect, and he decides to find the true thief himself, and he is aided by a beautiful rich young woman and her mother!) starring Cary Grant, Grace Kelly, Jessie Royce Landis, John Williams, Charles Vanel, Brigitte Auber, Rene Blancard, Georgette Anys, and Jean Martinelli. Note that Cary Grant had announced his retirement from movies in 1953, but he was lured out of retirement by Hitchcock to make this one. Also note that Jessie Royce Landis, who had played Grant's mother in "North by Northwest", this time played his potential mother-in-law, and yet, she was only eight years older than Grant, who had aged very well! Important Added Info: A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the defects described below, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restoration was done really well, and the poster displays really well! Condition: very good. The poster was gel backed (see above). This particular poster had minor wear on the folds. It had some pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges. It had a tape stain in the bottom left corner that extended into the jacket of the man at bottom left, and a few other tape stains and smudges around the edges. The poster was in "good to very good" condition prior to restoration. It was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects.
