Written and drawn by Al Capp, the strip featured humorous stories of a fictional clan of hillbillies living in the mountain town of Dogpatch, U.S.A. The comic strip has spawned several films, radio shows, books and even Sadie Hawkins Day (a pseudo-holiday created within the strip which became a widely celebrated event in real life). On Sadie Hawkins Day, women could ask men to marry them, so you could see why it became very popular, but mostly only with women with marriage-phobic boyfriends! Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this cool promo brochure! It was printed solely for theaters or even towns that chose to hold a Sadie Hawkins Day celebration on November 18, and it includes a bunch of cool items that could be ordered to use at the celebration, and we would imagine all of the ads, and this brochure itself are incredibly rare!
