Ten times as tantalizing on the screen!"; "A heart-load of maddening beauties draped in fashion's most ravishing creations... in a dream-drenched story of love time in Paris... told to the magic melodies of Jerome Kern"; "Jerome Kern's glorious musical romance... screened in a heart-warming sunburst of laughter and song... ten times as tantalizing as the sensational stage success!"; "Tingle to these dream-disturbing tunes"; "from the glorious play 'Roberta'"; "Book and Lyrics by Otto Harbach"; about a former Russian Princess who is now a famous Parisian designer, and her partner dies, leaving her half of the business to an American football player, who comes to help run the business, even though he knows nothing about it; Astaire plays a bandleader, and Rogers plays a fake Polish countess who was once Astaire's girlfriend) starring Irene Dunne ("the golden girl with the silver song"), Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers ("America's Dancing Stars"; "The King and Queen of Dance unite in the Empress of Musical Shows!"), Randolph Scott, Helen Westley (in the title role as Roberta), Victor Varconi, Claire Dodd, "and Hollywood's rarest beauties in Oh!... What gorgeous gowns!". Note that this movie was early enough in Astaire & Rogers careers that they are billed under Irene Dunne! Also note that the parts played by Astaire and Rogers were much smaller in the original Broadway production (Astaire's role was played by Bob Hope!), but their parts were expanded for the movie version, and of course, several musical numbers were added. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this half-sheet, and the last one was 18 years ago, when it sold for $873! Note that the half-sheet was folded once in each direction at one time. Because the folds are such that they have not diminished over time, AND because the poster was folded down the exact center in each direction, then we MAY fold the half-sheet prior to mailing, if it reduces shipping costs, and if you do not also purchase other half-sheets that need to be sent rolled. So it will be sent either rolled in a tube or folded in a standard flat package. Condition: good. The poster has small paper loss at the crossfold and pinholes, creases, and some darkening around the edges. It has a foreign stamp in the upper right slightly affecting the "GER" of "GINGER". After restoration by a talented professional, the poster will display really well. Learn More about condition grades
