She took over the Chicago Sun-Times' Ask Ann Landers advice column from Ruth Crowley in 1955, and continued to write the column for 47 years. Her sister Pauline Esther wrote a similar advice column called Dear Abbey (under the name Abigail Van Buren). Ann also appeared on TV and traveled the continent to media and charity events. She passed away in 2002 at the age of 83. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Ann Landers! When this Breast Cancer Awareness campaign was done at the start of the 1990s (with the participation of top female celebrities), the company that printed them, Meriden Gravure, was given a signed example of each (signed by the pictured star). That company gave them to a local historical society, and our consignor obtained the posters from them. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signatures are authentic. We are auctioning seven different posters in seven different auctions, each picturing a different celebrity, each personally signed by that celebrity. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good.
