An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

James M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the 1924 Herbert Brenon & Roy Pomeroy silent juvenile fantasy pirate adventure thriller ("The story of the boy who would not grow up."; "Peter Pan is the little boy who wouldn't grow up. If you want to visit him take the second turn to the right and go straight on 'till morning. There, in the Never Never Land, you will find him with the Fairies, the Indians, the Pirates and everything dear to the heart of a boy."; based on the classic play by J.M. Barrie; the first of many movie versions; about a boy who never grew up and who took runaway boys to a "Never Land") starring Betty Bronson (in the title role as Peter Pan; in her second credited movie role; thanks to Barrie's contract, the author had star approval, and after nine months he selected then-unknown Bronson!), Mary Brian (as Wendy), Jack Murphy, Philippe De Lacy, Virginia Brown Faire (as Tinker Bell), Ernest Torrence (as Captain James Hook), Edward Kipling (as Smee), and Anna May Wong (as Tiger Lilly). Note that because Peter Pan was a boy who never aged, he was always played by adult females of small stature, including in this movie!

Condition: very good to fine. Note that there are white areas in the corners that look like they COULD be a defect of some sort, but they are NOT. They exist on stills from silent films that have this sort of black border around the edges. It appears that stills of this sort were made by actually blowing up a frame of film, and perhaps those white areas are some sort of sprocket holes. In any event, they are contained within the printing and are not any sort of defect!
