An Autographed Limited Edition Plaque (measures 10 1/2" x 13" [27 x 33 cm]) (Learn More) Star Trek, the 1966 - 1969 Gene Roddenberry action science fiction (sci-fi) outerspace adventure television (TV) series starring William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (as Spock), DeForest Kelley (as Dr. Bones McCoy), James Doohan (as Scotty), George Takei (as Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (as Uhura), Walter Koenig (as Chekov), Majel Barrett (as Nurse Chapel), and Grace Lee Whitney (as Yeoman Rand). Note that this show aired for three seasons, and was pretty popular the first two seasons, but the third season it was moved to Friday night (a poor night for the viewers this show was aiming at) and it was canceled. That seemed to be it, but it grew ever more popular in syndication, and in 1979, a decade after the show was canceled, a feature movie version was created, which led to many sequels (starring the original cast), and also several different TV series, with different casts. It is surely one of the most successful franchises of all time! Artist: John A. Collado Important Added Info: Note that plaque (which is a heavy wooden plaque that measures 10 1/2" x 13", with a color REPRO mounted on it in a plastic sleeve, and an engraved plate mounted beneath that) has been personally autographed (signed) by James Doohan, George Takei, Walter Koenig, and Nichelle Nichols! It was created when these four actors went on "The Fab Four Inaugural Tour" in Eugene, Oregon on May 23-24, 1998. The plaque was limited to 300, and this is #64/300 (it is numbered both on the plate and on the color repro). Note that this autographed item (and many others in this set of auctions, all of which have this same paragraph on them) come from the collection of a man who recently passed away. He was confined to a wheelchair, but that did not stop him from attending all of the major collectible shows in the Northeast, including the Chiller Conventions! He would obtain many signed items from the celebrities in attendance (they sometimes personalized the autographs to him, and his name was "Jimmy"), and he also purchased a few signed items from celebrities through the mail. In the case of the items purchased through the mail, he would usually also get a "certificate of authenticity". Our consignor (and we) believe that all of the signed items from this collection have authentic signatures. Condition: very good.
