Gordon Edwards historical Ancient Egypt royalty silent romantic epic melodrama ("The Siren of the Nile"; "Direct from record engagement at the Lyric Theatre N.Y.") starring Theda Bara (in the title role "as Cleopatra, The Siren of the Nile"), Fritz Leiber (as Caesar), Thurston Hall (as Antony), Alan Roscoe, Herschel Mayall, and Dorothy Drake. Note that this movie, like the other most major movies of this time, initially played for six months at a single theater in New York City. We don't know what posters were exhibited during that six month time, but the one-sheet poster (with the most classic image of Theda Bara) was created immediately after that, when the movie was first released to other theaters! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in 2014, we were consigned two ultra rare scene lobby cards from this legendary movie, and they auctioned for $575 and $565. They came to us from a man who had purchased three cards at one time many years ago. Now he has consigned to us the final card, which has way the best image of the three cards. After this, it will likely be many years before we auction another card from this movie, unless there is another incredible find, or unless one of the buyers of these cards re-consigns it! Condition: very good to fine. The card has pinholes in the corners and some faint water stains in the left of the bottom border, with a few tiny smudges in the borders and tiny creases in three corners. But other than the above, the card is in really nice condition, and it is not at all fragile. It is hard to believe it is just under 100 years old, but we assure you it is!
