McLeod college football sports mistaken identity slapstick comedy ("The 4 Marx Brothers"; Groucho is the dean of a college, and he tries to hire two "ringers", professional football players, to help the college win their big game, but he mistakenly hires Harpo and Chico instead, and meanwhile, Zeppo is Groucho's son, who is busy romancing the "college widow", memorably played by Thelma Todd) starring the Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo), Thelma Todd, David Landau, Nat Pendleton, Robert Greig, Florine McKinney, and Jim Pierce NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned an example of the style A one-sheet, and that was 30 years ago, when it sold for $5,280, but we have NEVER before auctioned this style B one-sheet, which has a completely different image! Not only that, but we have only auctioned six lobby cards, but only one in the last 9 years. First release movie paper from any of the Marx Bros. Paramount movies is exceptionally rare, especially the one-sheets, which is why they are so highly prized by collectors! Condition: very good. The poster was folded in half an extra time and there are some creases along parts of the folds. There are light water stains on the back of the left half of the top horizontal fold and below the left half of the top horizontal fold, and they show through to the front in the light background to the left of the man and in the white background above the first "H" of the title. There are also a few faint stains on the back of the middle of the left border that show through to the front. There are some creases scattered in the poster. The poster has never had any restoration, and the colors are bright. After the simplest of linenbacking, this poster will look incredible, and since the slight water staining described above can surely be removed chemically, it will almost certainly not require any paint restoration in the image and will display wonderfully on the new owner's wall!
