eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5c190 SINFUL SOULS 1sh '40s sure she got in trouble, but who was to blame, great artwork! Date Sold 3/9/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 41" [72 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Sinful Souls, the 1940s abortion sexploitation movie ("Protect your daughters!"; "Today A Nice Girl Tomorrow Marked For Life!"; "See... Week End Parties Wild Youth Unleashes Blind Lust - Love Hungry, THEY PAY the PRICE of PASSION!"; "ADULTS Only"; "Sure she got in trouble who was to blame?"; "See the answer in Sinful Souls"; "The picture that exposes hushed-up truths!"). Note that a dedicated collector sent us information that indicates that this movie is likely a 1940s re-release of the 1939 movie "Unborn Souls". Interestingly, "Unborn Souls" apparently did not do well with audiences for exploitation pictures, and when the film was re-released, it was given a more risque-sounding title to draw larger crowds! If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that it is possible that this poster is from a 1940s (circa 1942) roadshow release of this movie (these kinds of movies were often shown in small towns in late night or midnight shows on the weekend for one week only, and posters were made for those 1940s re-releases that can be difficult to distinguish from originals). Given that we can find no reference to this movie anywhere, it is also quite possible that is a re-titling of one of the earlier similar movies (perhaps the 1939 movie "Unborn Souls" mentioned above), but because the poster has no credits, it is impossible to tell. If anyone knows more about this movie or this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/4" x 41". Note that this poster is one of a remarkable collection of 24 sexploitation one-sheets (and one two-sheet from one of the 24 titles) which are mostly from the 1940s, and most of them are ones we have never auctioned before. These are among the most desirable sexploitation posters ever, because they are far more rare than those from later years! Condition: very good. The poster has 1" of separation at the top crossfold and some pretty minor fold and border wear. Learn More about condition grades
