An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Shock Punch, the 1925 Paul Sloane romantic boxing sports iron worker construction big business silent melodrama ("From the story by John Monk Saunders"; about a young man who is encouraged by his father to be trained as a boxer to make him tough, and he also gets a job working on the construction of a high rise building, and he both uncovers a plot to sabotage the building, and he falls in love with the daughter of the building owner!; the title refers to his infamous "shock punch" that he has while boxing which can knock out anyone!) starring Richard Dix, Frances Howard, Theodore Babcock, Percy Moore, Charles Byer, and Gunboat Smith. Note that female lead Frances Howard had appeared in just two movies prior to this one. Producer Samuel Goldwyn managed to convince her to marry him less than one month after this movie was released, at which point she retired (with the exception of one movie in 1935), and she remained married to Goldwyn until his death 50 years later. Oddly, she is supposed to have a life-long love for gay director George Cukor, and when she died two years after Goldwyn, she was buried next to Cukor! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the cardboard holder has staining around the staples, but the glass slide itself is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
