eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4s384 ROGUES OF SHERWOOD FOREST TC '50 John Derek as the son of Robin Hood in joust! Date Sold 2/19/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Rogues of Sherwood Forest, the 1950 Gordon Douglas medieval swashbuckling romantic adventure thriller ("Adventure's most stirring era brought to life!") starring John Derek (as Robin, Earl of Huntington - the son of Robin Hood!), Diana Lynn (as Lady Marianne), George MacReady (as King John), Alan Hale Sr. (as Little John), Paul Cavanagh, Billy House (as Friar Tuck), and Billy Bevan (as Will Scarlet). Note that Columbia had made "Bandit of Sherwood Forest" in 1946, and they re-used all the sets, costumes, and stock footage left over from that movie, and threw together this silly story of the son of Robin Hood taking up where his father left off, with a girlfriend named "Lady Marianne"! They managed to get Alan Hale to reprise the role of Little John he had played in both the 1922 "Robin Hood" and in the 1938 "Adventures of Robin Hood"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the back of this card was overprinted with a solid rectangular pattern. This was commonly done in the 1950s so that old lobby cards could be re-used as "frames" for 8x10 stills. This IS an original lobby card. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: fair. The card has faded considerably and there is overprinting on the back (see our images). Learn More about condition grades
