McEvoy";"From the story by J.P. McEvoy"; a wacky story of a Brooklyn girl who moves to Manhattan to become an actress and gets involved in all kinds of things including a fake kidnapping, but she finds romance with a reporter and success on the stage) starring Alice White, Donald Reed, Lee Moran, Charles Delaney, Richard Tucker, Gwen Lee, and James Finlayson. Note that, as was typical at the time, the characters in this movie are very "ethnic". The star character's name is "Dixie Dugan", and the people she goes to work for are named "Eppus" and "Kibbitzer", and the kidnapper is named "Alvarez", and her boyfriend the reporter is named "Jimmy Doyle"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some minor wear and separation on parts of the foldlines. There was a diagonal crease just above the left half of the top foldline and another just below the left half of the bottom foldline. There were some pinholes, tears, and some stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed onto linen with no excess and no real restoration (see our image). If I owned this poster, I would surely have it removed from the linen and properly re-backed, after which it will look fantastic and require little paint restoration.
